REC Origination & Trading at Pacific Summit

This is an excellent opportunity to enter the environmental markets industry and become an integral part of the EAC (Energy Attribute Certificates) Desk supporting the origination and trading efforts of the front office team. This position is vital to the organization, compliance, and success of the team who primarily conducts business in the US and International Renewable Energy Credit (REC) markets.

Initial Responsibilities

  1. Input and maintain accurate records in the ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system for all environmental activities including: Trades, Deliveries, Transfers, Retirements, Valuations, Position Tracking, and Inventory Management. Become an expert user of the ETRM system assisting the team in managing the portfolio.
  2. Managing the scheduling of RECs (domestic and international) working closely with commercial members.
  3. Work closely with Middle and Back Office teams to manage and facilitate the full life cycle of transactions including: setup of new counterparties, credit approvals, contracting/confirmation processes, and settlements.

Subsequent Responsibilities

  1. Support origination activities such as helping to draft proposals, preparing and delivering presentations, and analyzing customers' sustainability reports to identify customer needs.
  2. Assist in and later progress towards leading the development, maintenance, and improvement of supply and demand models for various REC markets.
  3. Conduct and present research pertaining to economic and regulatory changes affecting the environmental markets.

Qualifications

  1. 0-3 years of experience in an analytical role preferably in the energy industry (Environmental, Power, Natural Gas).
  2. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field including: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
  3. Strong analytical skills and ardent attention to detail.
  4. Keen interest in commodities markets.
  5. Excellent presentation and writing skills.
  6. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  7. Ability to manage competing projects and priorities.
  8. Programming skills are a plus.

  1. Work closely with legal/compliance group to ensure the company stays within regulatory rules and compliance.
  2. You will maintain your office and conduct your responsibilities at the Company's office located in The Woodlands, Texas. You will perform reasonable travel as required by your employment duties. You will carry out your responsibilities in accordance with business principles and strategies approved by the Company.
  3. You will serve the Company exclusively. You will devote your full attention, skills and ability to your responsibilities as Associate, Global EACs Desk. You will not become involved in or engage in any other business, enterprise or organization as an employee, officer or director without prior approval of the management.
