Job Purpose:
The Forensic DNA Analyst job's focus is on accessioning casework, extraction of DNA, and serology.

Qualifications :
Forensic DNA Analyst I
Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, statistics and or population genetics, forensic sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field.
A minimum of 1+ years of Forensic DNA Laboratory Experience.
Excellent organizational Skills.
Attention to detail.
Forensic DNA Analyst II
All of the qualifications for Forensic DNA Analyst I plus;
A minimum of 3 years of Forensic DNA Laboratory Experience
A graduate degree can replace up to 2 years of laboratory experience
Forensic DNA Analyst III
All of the qualifications for Forensic DNA Analyst II plus;
A minimum of 6 years of Forensic DNA Laboratory Experience
A graduate degree can replace up to 2 years of laboratory experience
Working Conditions:
A Forensic DNA Analyst's work is performed in a laboratory with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards such as blood and other biological fluids.
Requires reading/viewing potentially disturbing case file materials.
As a Forensic DNA Analyst, you may be required to present findings in a courtroom setting.
The position requires occasional long hours, work on the evenings, weekends, and holidays along with the possibility of domestic travel to support business and/or scientific objectives.
Physical Requirements:
Physical presence at Othram's laboratory facilities located in The Woodlands, TX during regular business hours Monday through Friday.
Position requires standing, repetitive motion (pipetting), and lifting up to 75 pounds.
