Director of Manufacturing

Description:

This global manufacturer is seeking an experienced and strategic Manufacturing Director to lead and oversee all manufacturing operations across multiple facilities. This individual will be responsible for developing efficient processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring high-quality production standards, and fostering a culture of safety and performance. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with deep knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the manufacturing function to ensure production goals are met or exceeded.
  2. Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company objectives for growth, cost-efficiency, and quality.
  3. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  4. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of new product introductions and production changes.
  5. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, quality, safety, and cost control.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, company policies, and health and safety standards.
  7. Manage departmental budgets and optimize resource allocation.
  8. Drive workforce development by recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating manufacturing staff.
  9. Oversee maintenance of equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure operational efficiency and uptime.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
  2. 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  3. Proven track record of leading successful manufacturing teams and managing complex production environments.
  4. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems.
  5. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  6. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
