Job Description:

Endur Developers at EDF Trading are responsible for the implementation of customized solutions within the OpenLink Endur platform. Solutions will enable commercial opportunities, reduce operational risk, and improve system reliability. Endur Developers will partner with Business Analysts to understand user requirements and create effective functional designs, and will own solution development, testing, and maintenance. This role will require periodic after hours work to support deployments of new functionality and to support the resolution of critical production issues and requires approximately one week per month on after-hours on call rotation.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop software applications, adhere to coding standards and best practices.
  2. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and conduct unit testing to verify the functionality of developed code.
  3. Identify and resolve bugs or issues in existing software code and troubleshoot technical problems as they arise.
  4. Work collaboratively with other team members, such as project managers, business analysts, and other developers and DBAs, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  5. Use version control systems (preferably Azure DevOps) to manage and maintain codebase integrity.
  6. Provide technical assistance and support for applications, troubleshoot and resolve user issues, escalate complex problems to senior staff, document resolutions.
  7. Monitor the availability, performance and throughput of supported applications.
  8. Write and maintain technical documentation, including code documentation, system architecture, and deployment procedures.
  9. Apply problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions within project constraints.
  10. Participate in quality assurance activities, such as functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing, to ensure software quality meets defined standards.
  11. Provide after-hours support as needed and participate in the after-hours on call rotation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is required.
  2. 0 - 5 years' development experience, including Open JVS, AVS, Connex, and OpenComponents, such as WS Gateway.
  3. 0 - 5 years' development experience with OpenLink Endur ETRM system is preferred.
  4. Working knowledge of energy commodities trading is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
  6. Relational database experience, MS SQL Server is preferred.
  7. Basic understanding of Azure Service offerings (i.e. Azure Data Factory, Function Apps, Logic Apps, etc.)
  8. Desire and aptitude to learn and understand new and emerging technologies.
  9. Able to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  10. Ability to work well under pressure.
  11. The ability to work independently or on a team exhibiting excellent multi-tasking skills.
  12. Strong organizational, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  13. Strong sense of ownership and accountability of tasks.
  14. A creative, innovative, analytical approach to problem solving is fundamental.
  15. Experience in supporting a 7 X 24 hour environment.
  16. Willing to travel as necessary.
